LED-based lighting system using open hardware and smart phone application.
It was a project in collaboration with Genesis Photonics Inc. in order to build an affordable LED based lighting control system. It’s also aimed to learn and polish related skills in PCB layout and electronics from scratch. The system overview is showed below. The CapSense remote acts like a hub, communicating with each light bulb or lighting system via 2.4GHz RF signal, and a mobile app communicates with the CapSense remote via bluetooth. We used all the tools (PCB UV exposure box, temperature-controlled PCB etching tank and Arduino ISP) that we made previously to build every component of the system.
